Historicals
Sarita Castle was built in 1905 as wedding present by the Miller family (Rothschild 's partners in railways construction in South America) for the daughter Sara and it was dedicated to her name.
Sarah Miller married Herbert Sandford Ward british sculptor and explorer belonging to the rich aristocrat family Sandford Ward.
The place was chosen for the vicinity of the castle of King Leopold II of Belgium who was a personal friend of the Sandford Ward family.
Besides the Impressionist Art movement to which Herbert Sandford Ward belonged in the field of sculpture had a strategic cultural centre in Giverny
Castle Sarita has conserved all the atmosphere of this intense artistics foyer and is still full of souvenirs of the artistic and cultural life of that period including all the original furniture of the family Sandford Ward and sculptures of the ex owner.
